Daniel DeVaughn is a poet and the Teaching Writer at the Alabama Writers’ Forum, where he instructs juvenile offenders in creative writing as part of the Writing Our Stories program. He received an M.F.A. from the University of Oregon and has received fellowships from The Sewanee Writer's Conference, The Norman Mailer Writer’s Workshop, and The Vermont Studio Center. His poems have most recently appeared in Birmingham Poetry Review and Southern Humanities Review.
